What to do with UU matter?

Hi guys,

ive finally built my matter fab connected to a steam boiler. Its running, pretty slow but its running and ive already made 10 of uu matter. But i dont know for what i should use it. I could make iridium, but what with the iridium? Should i go for solars or somethign else? maybe something with huge energy amounts. Can you suggest me what to do with the uu matter?

Even advanced solars require sunnarium these days, which require two UU/per. Assuming you supply the iridium from elsewhere you could make five of the things with what you've got, probably more by the time you've sorted out all the other ingredients.

At 8EU/t during the day, that's 40EU/t all up. Not all that much, but advanced solars are an ingredient for ultimate solars (tip: skip regular hybrids, it's cheaper), so if you've no other ideas, why not?

Keep your UU in UU-form until you're ready to actually use it. Never know when you'll change your mind.

I started making UU when I could without giving it much thought. I had never used it really. Then it came in really handy. Make it easy on your self and go into the ic2 config and set show hidden recipes to true so you can see UU matter recipes. It really does come in handy. Rubies>Ruby dust>Chrome dust. I use it for string to automate my frames for bees. My setup evolved to this and I have over 80k UU atm.

stocking up the energy supply is a good idea. you can go nuclear too. iridium is an ingredient for the iridium neutron reflector.

basically you get more energy out of your nuclear fuel... and the iridium neutron reflector doesn't receive damage.

by the way: you don't need recyclers. there are so many other valid materials, nikolite and forcicium work, thorium, uranium and plutonium dust work extremely well. 1 piece of thorium lasts for 3 uu matter, uranium for 6, plutonium even for 12.

I know. I had this setup before I had access to a steady supply of good amplifiers so I just leave it go. It is fully self contained and on it's own solar array so figured why turn it off. Just added a ME storage bus to the barrels so I can access the UU matter through the crafting screen.

the list is more or less complete. I saw that manganese dust is not on that list, but according to nei, it's a valid amplifier too (with the same value as scrap)

glowstone and redstone dust works too, but honestly? that stuff is to valueable to waste it on the matterfab...

glowstone dust has a value of 25000, redstone dust the standard scrap value of 5000.

If you have enough UU-matter, then replace all the blocks in your base with iridium-tungstensteel ones.

Make iridium, then go for solars. It's slow at first, but it gets faster with each Ultimate Hybrid you make. My first ultimate hybrid took me, I think 10 days to get enough iridium (then it turned out I didn't have enough gunpowder for the implosion compressor, but that's another story). Now, I get enough uu matter for an ultimate hybrid (7X64 + 60) in a day and a half.

You don't have to just make solars, advanced solars, and ultimate hybrids, of course, but those give you the best bang for the buck. Once you have enough, you can use your iridium for other things, like a nano suit.
