Hello everybody,
I recently stepped back into modded minecraft (basically was inactive since 1.5.2) and I stumbled over some neat mods like Reactorcraft and Big Reactors which allow to build cool-looking reactors that generate a lot of power.
But while I like the looks of these reactors I don't really want to build reactors for the sake of building reactors - I want to do something useful with them. But the techmods I would be using like TE and BC don't really require a lot of power. Sure.. If I want a quarry that goes really fast I would need quite some power generation but from what I saw those big reactor mods exceed that by an insane amount.
So now I'm looking for some (lategame) mods that can put this insane amount of power to good use and I would be thankful if you could help me out with my search :)

Big thanks in advance :)

Rotary craft. You will discover soon you don't have enough power*.

*Disclaimer: Powering Rotary craft with RF is a pointless endeavor, as when you get to the point of being able to do it, you will come across two problems:
1. Lubricant. So. Much. Lube.
2. Not producing enough power with your big reactor.

Really depends on what you want to do with it really. Most common form of power sink would probably be MFR's Laser Drill and four Laser Drill prechargers, from what I've heard you would need 20,000 RF/t to run it at it's maximum capability.

And if you are into RotaryCraft and ReactorCraft (and maybe ElectriCraft too), the Extractor would take a lot of power to run all four stages at it's maximum speed too.

Thank you. The Laser Drill looks very promising to me and I totally forgot about the Extractor. I think they would do the job quite nicely :)

None of the power sinks above seem really appealing to me. The "best" one in terms of power draw is the Laser Drill, but in the case of ReactorCraft, you already have All The Resources by this point anyway (via the Borer) and laser drills are meaningless.

Which Wish someone would come up with a ElectriCraft/RotaryCraft-powered Wormhole mod so I could teleport all over the place expensively.

Once I am skilled enough in the arts of Java and Forge, I am going to do exactly this.

Doesn't some of the high end bee machines (gendustry?) have some quite insane power demands?

The ones for breeding are on-demand only. Unless you have a massively parallel breeding program in progress, you won't need more than a few thousand RF/t with a decent RF buffer (TE Energy Cells, eIO Capacitors) in between.

Only the Gendustry Industrial Apiaries are constant power, and they're not that much power.

BigReactors pairs well with the MFR Laser. They are in the same order of magnitude. You won't be satisfied with BigReactors, however, if you're heavy into RotaryCraft.

ReactorCraft pairs well with RotaryCraft. ReactorCraft and RotaryCraft have 1+ orders of magnitude more power vs. BigReactors. You won't need all that ReactorCraft power if it's just the MFR Laser. The Borer and Extractor, however, can use all that power.

But, you really can't compare BigReactors vs. ReactorCraft. They have vastly different tech. trees, gameplay styles, and are in *mostly* mutually exclusive modpacks.
