Hey everyone! I am hopefully going to start up a new series on YouTube on feed the beast infinity evolved. I am not so new to the multiplayer aspect with buying things off other people, but am new to single player. My question to everyone is what I should start off with, what mod to do first, what to craft first etc. Anything helps!
Thanks!

With the way Infinity Evolved is designed, you will have to work on several mods simultaneously in order to gain access to higher tiers of Tech and Magic. Some plow through the tech side, and come back for the magic once the trees merge again in late game (Draconic Evolution, mainly). Others plow through the magic without delving into the tech. I would suggest working on them side by side, personally, as a few projects on each side require a time sink of some kind (waiting on waste from the IC2 reactor, for instance). This way, you always have something moving forward, while allowing yourself access to magitech cross mod help.

Since the pace of progression is slowed down, use the time to build pretty. Since the modpack should force you to consider new solutions, build imaginative. And for the love of God, speak clearly.

Best of luck.

is there any chance that you could do like a ELI5? to someone who doesn't know mods like you do? xD

I'm honestly not familiar with "ELI5" as a term. If you plan on using Infinity Evolved as your pack though, I highly recommend you read through this thread:

http://forum.feed-the-beast.com/threads/share-your-progress-on-infinity-evolved-expert-mode.130112/

It's full of people sharing tips and triumphs, sometimes base pics, lessons learned the hard way, and challenges to plan ahead for. If you're just starting out (and don't mind a spoiler or two in the progression), it is a veritable treasure trove.

That only holds true for "Expert" mode. "Normal" mode Infinity Evolved is configured the same as Infinity was prior to "Expert" mode was released. You don't have progress with multiple mods simultaneously in "Normal" mode.

Of course, @Prime4G may intend to play in "Expert" mode...

If I were going to work on a "Let's Play" series, I'd do the following:

1) Look for a new title... Sony is trying to trademark "Let's Play" right now

2) I'd probably wait for the next 1.8.9 pack after Unstable... there are plenty of "Infinity Evolved: Expert" videos now, including the new Skyblock alpha tests, and the few Unstable videos are, well, not stable as mods are added and/or updated. Nothing hurts more than having to restart a world used in a video series.

[Edit] I expect to see a lot more work on 1.8.9 now since Mojang announced 1.9's official release date today... Feb 29, "because it's Leap Day".

Personally, I've had all the Infinity Evolved Xpert mode I can handle. Everyone and their sibling is doing it, so you want to find something else to stand out.

Modular Mayhem is a pack I keep trying to get more exposure, because it's very cool. It's outside of the normal progression. The only Thermal Expansion in the pack is very neutered, and it's got a lot of mods that you might never have played with before. Silent's Gems instead of Tinker's for example. Or magneticraft over IC2. It's also focused on multi-block or modular mods. Just having to solve problems by learning new mods will make it more interesting than yet another IEX series.
