G'day everyone.

I tried searching for an answer to what's happening in my world, but I don't know what it's called to be able to actually search for it...not sure if it's a bug, or if it's part of a mod that I've just not seen before.

So here goes, I've just started a Direwolf20 1.6.4 server, and we've set up in an Origin Valley biome.
Everything's been going incredibly smoothly, but I just went out looking for Clay and got sucked into...some kind of weird vortex type thing?
There are some very minor particle effects of a spinning vortex type thing, mobs, myself and the world around it are getting pulled into it and destroyed.

I'm not sure if this is a bug, or something that's been added by a mod...

Can anyone help me? I can take a video if it'll help

I normally don't endorse cheating, but just creative mode and kill it unless you have a Wand Core of Exavation.

But I suppose in a way they might be a good way of storing Aspects, right? I mean, if I confined it to a room and used the OpenBlocks cannon to shoot my junk at it, it would be broken down and stored in the node, right?

Ahh, bugger. Well thanks for the input everyone! I'm just glad I don't have some weird world breaking bug!

I would keep it around just as a novelty sight, they're ultra rare :D

Destroying it can be quite rewarding though, as they quite literally eat up the aspects of anything they gobble up. When they have eaten a lot, they will be stacked with aspects. The one my friend destroyed (after it ate him and his expensive armor) dropped 25-30 ethereal essences.

I really want to jar a hungry node then give it a room and use it as my trash barrel, going to be a right royal PITA to get it in a jar but hey what is minecraft without a little challenge :D

Anyone try Force Wrenching one?

It should work as force wrenching works (with whatever version I have) on other nodes. You can also capture it the hard way but it is somewhat painful.

Force wrenching a node also seems to preserve the node (no degeneration) I believe that this is going to be fixed at some point since it is incredibly unbalanced.

the force wrench... well, it takes fuel now, but it's still quite unbalanced compared to other ways of moving entities. I'd have liked it if the fuel cost depends on what you're force-wrenching... a chest wouldn't cost much, but a spawner... that'd take up alot of fuel

though I don't know if this is already coded like that, though I haven't noticed if it actually was in the short time that I played with it

Just pickaxe it and it will be destroyed.

have you ever tried breaking one? :p
I think you'll be sucked in faster then you're able to break it.

Yep broke several without so much as a scratch, if you wade in with no or little armor or lack of real defense then the faults your own :p
