Alright so I've got my hands on a beastnode server for the past month and I'm sad to say that it does lag for quite a bit when playing FTB. Now I don't know if that's related to the fact that it's hosted in Chicago while I'm in New-Brunswick, Canada.

But the thing is: my friends have started to stop playing on it because of the constant frame-skip, chests not opening and randomly being booted. Now before you say "It might be because you've got too many players on! DERP!" I'm using the spider subscription and we're only 2-3 on at the same time.
So to get to the subject at hand: I want to change host.

So here are my current considerations:
TreePuncher.ca - apparently they have a really good service. But their Canadian servers are currently unavailable.
Fragnet.net - Voted for one of the best MC hosts on the minecraftservers website. But they don't host in Canada...
daddycheese.com - everyone I've seen talking about it says they've got an insane service for the low cost. again though, no Canadian server.

So I'd like to ask you guys, the community either:
-Which one out of these should I pick for an optimal server experience.
-Is there a better one I could get?
-What was your experience with (Insert host here) and should I use their service.

Is the server only gonna be for 2-3 people? You should be able to host that locally.
If you want more people you should get a proper host. I've had TERRIBLE experience Fragnet. Daddycheese is alright.

Now i would've recommended ftbserv but they went out of business unfortunately.

they have a smaller one i3 with 8gig, I just don't like getting a vps, I find them slower and unreliable when it comes to a heavy mod like forge

Actually, that's why I'm looking for a host. My computer ran it perfectly but I couldn't play without massive lag.
And my friends are too dumb to manage to make one.[DOUBLEPOST=1361133196][/DOUBLEPOST]
I actually have a dedicated server for $60 a month, 16gig ram, unlimited bandwidth, intel i5 cpu. using OVH http://www.ovh.com/us/dedicated-servers/

Those are actually a bit costly just to play MC with my friends.

Are you looking for a host that will help you troubleshoot your problems with the mods? Or just one that has reliable uptime and you can manage the server on your own as long as you can start/stop, have ftp file access, etc?

In that case I would recommend the host I'm currently using. http://www.komputerking.com/game-servers.php It has reliable uptime, pretty good service, good pricing, etc. Allows you to upload your own jar for a modded server, but you need to know what you're doing, you can't just have no clue about what your working with because while they do support modded servers, it's not in their specialty and as far as support for crashes related to your instance, you'll need to know how to figure them out most of the time.

I know that they have mentioned something about a server in Canada so you might check that out, but you'll need to talk to support about that. For me my server from them isn't in canada, but I do know that players from vancouver, edmonton, ontario and a few other cities connected to the server fine with no lag.
