What is the best fuel to feed a liquid firebox High-Pressure boiler ?

On unleashed ?

On ultimate I usually used MFR's Bioreactor and a tier 5 skeleton soul cage collecting their bone and turning them into bone meal using a fabricator then feed the Bioreactor bone meal which fills the boiler.

But now that the Bioreactor has been nerfed I can't use that setup anymore.

I would really appreciate some help. :D

Depends entirely on how your world is set up. The bioreactor is still a fine piece of kit, it just got modified into it's original purpose (i.e. only any use if you have multiple item types in there), there are a few tricks to boost it (ink sacs, etc.).

If you're powering from scratch, fuel will do the job for a while, but then you need to continue to find good sources. I've seen people use creosote, but that would require either a continuous mining system, or a tree farm to keep going.

The main point I'm trying to make is that the "best" fuel for you depends entirely on what you currently have in your base, or what you want to work towards. If you're asking about common or unique systems, then you get very different answers.

Distilled Bees work great if you want oil->fuel. With 4 frames in an Alveary I believe I was overproducing oil while running 4 36HP boilers using 4 Alveary. Those bees were only "fast" producers, as well.

I've stopped using all of that though, and have switched to Factorization mirrors and solar boilers.

How many boilers? A 3x3 Mfr farm with sakura trees produces an insane amount of wood n saplings. Ditto for jungle and eucalyptus (sapling looks similar to birch). Add in a melon and a pumpkin farm and your up to 5 types that are quick to replenish, youl also drown in wood... Add oak for even more fun. And if you add mfr fertilizers you can further increase yield.

I only have 1 boiler atm. I just need to find a way to get enough fuel for it then I'll eventually add more.

Boiler powers oil fabricator + refinery to make fuel, use fuel to power boiler. Gives a +39% return on a fully heated up 36hp boiler.

Alternatively you could make a desert oil field with mystcraft and drain that for fuel.

Oh they have those biomes on 1.5.2 ?

I thought was an 1.6.2 update. lol

No. They exist in 1.5.2. So does the updated mystcraft stuff you probably saw in DW20's FG2 episode on mystcraft.

Incidentally this is pretty much the first time mystcraft actually gives you a world that matches the pages (mostly).

I find it to be just the opposite. This version of mystcraft adds things I don't want. I can reduce the chance of this happening but I cannot remove it.

Yeah I saw direwolf20's FG2 series and I built a private modpack based on it.

But now off to pages hunting!

I know. What I meant was mystcraft in 1.4.7 was FAR worse. Seriously, you'd be lucky to even have the right biome. Now its actually useable for stuff (e.g. mushroom void worlds for a mob-free space base thing).

Breed oak trees to have Normal Yield, then use applejuice to make biofuel. Works pretty well for me

If you find the mystcraft page you wont have any more needs for such a long time that you can either move the wells when they dry up or eventually move to a biogas>biofuel>boiler route.

Fuel is generally the most energy dense. For some starts, choosing to using creosote oil in liquid fireboxes, and then the coal coke in solid fireboxes is another route.

Biofuel is also an option.

Again, just the opposite of my experience. I could make exactly what I wanted in 1.4.7 as long as I had the pages.

My suggestion is solid-fuel instead. Fire it up with a stack of Coal Coke, and it produces enough steam to power both the tree farm to run it, and the steam oven to cook the wood into charcoal. Once you're that efficient, it'll run forever.

However, an MFR Tree farm will produce the high sap vanilla saplings and power a liquid boiler easily.

I do wonder why you'd want a liquid fueled boiler though,,, I run two solid fueled boilers and I'm still drowning in charcoal from my MFR farms ^^* Using jungle, sakura, oak, birch, spruce, darkwood and eucalyptus. 3x3, one for each tree type. The one's producing the most wood and saplings is the Sakura and Eucalyptus trees due to their very fast growth rate. Darkwood needs to be run through a unifier to be able to be turned to charcoal ^^* But rather sure I'd be able to cut it down to just Jungle and still be swimming in charcoal ^^* Or just Sakura or Eucalyptus ^^* Solid fueled boilers are very lovely once you have a few fully operational MFR farms ^^*

Startup to get you to 1000 C:

Oil > pump > tesseract > refinery > tank > boiler

Midgame:

Find 9 kinds of trees > one MFR tree farm set to plant 9 kinds > bioreactor > tank > boiler

Endgame:

Automate frames > automate oily bees > refinery > tank > boiler

Ouroboros (laggy and low-yield):

Heat up boiler > powerconvert steam to EU > oil producer > refinery > tank > boiler

OMGWTFBBQ:

Bonemeal from T5 / ink sacs from rancher / any dye > biofuel > tank > boiler
