What is going on?

Every time i log onto my server more chickens spawn... it's like trouble with tribbles here. definitley lagging me to death.

It happens sometimes. Unfortunately, the only way to fix it is to delete the affected chunks and regenerate them.

you don't have a tier 5 chicken spawner near a chunk loader do you? I did that to my private server once with a skeleton spawner.

Mob spawning is very odd in MC. Random things like the OP can happen, as well as suddenly finding no hostile mobs will spawn in overworld (got this issue on a small server at the moment). Good old minecraft

I once read people talking about a corrupted chunk that could cause that.
but hey, atleast you don't have to make a chicken spawner now
