Dear hardcore FTB fans,

I and a friend are now playing FTB Ultimate for the first time and I was asking myself: "What is a good way to start of?" I have done it the traditional way with ThermalExpansion, but are there any other ways? Would love to hear them from you guys.

Greetings,

Ivo

Start with Quartz Grindstone. Better yet, do it the Gregtech way and start with Macerators. Or, you can opt out of ore duplication entirely and play it hardcorely.
EDIT: You spelled off wrong. Care to change it? Jk.

You crazy? Gregtech is way too expensive to start of with. I think bees is maybe a good way to start, because of the infinite lava thing and biomass should help as well in the beginning.

If you really want a challenge, use Gregtech. It's "different" as you said up there.

Heh, makes me think I should have done that april 1st video where I claim to play a perfect game start to finish over a period of a hundred detailed videos. Start out, head over to a tree and start punching it only to find out that I missed the trunk at the ground level hidden behind some dirt and instead hit the next wood up. Rage quit and end the video.
