Tested on a creative superflat tunneler's dream map. I think this, with some effort, would be a pretty neat place to live!

[DOUBLEPOST=1358489754][/DOUBLEPOST]Edit: I just went up the shaft I used to drop all 128 Nukes to the single spot and the red alloy wire is still there!!!

damn... it'd crash my comp doing that XD does look like one cool place for a base though, i'd go loft style for a base there, just have everything on non walled platforms with plenty of staircases/levitators

I wonder how you can get only the ores out though. I know IC2 Miners can do this, but it's rather tedious to do that.

Wand of Equal Trade sounds like the best idea for this, even though it will take awhile to replace all the visible ores and dirt into stone for a 128x128x128 (or bigger) sphere.

and also trying to keep it lit up XD thats where my loft idea would fail
Yeah couple of wrath lamps and problem solved though it may cause some lag with the ammount you would need though if your PC survived the nukes and from the specs below your posts it will probably be ok

This was actually done on my older system with an AMD Athlon x4 640 (3.0ghz quad core), a radeon 6700 something (I've forgotten by now), and 3.25gb of usable memory (yes, this system is also only 32bit).

My PC survived but the amount of entities on the ground after the explosion almost killed me. If you do this in your game, I recommend first typing /gamerule doTileDrop to prevent all the blocks from dropping when the Nukes explode. You'd be surprised what computers can handle large MC explosions when you take dropped entities out of the equation.

Yeah just thought I would try it on mine I know in the past the explosion from nukes has killed my older PCs but my 3.2 AMD Hex core with 12 GB Corsair Vengance 1600MHz (8GB given to MC/Java while its running) with a HD 6950 GFX card and yeah it pretty much is the entity spam that killed me it survived pretty well at first though is still running without crash though my console is being screaming about being overburdened

I once saw a map where someone made an underground cavern with a hole in the roof to the sky, the cavern was partially filled with water, and the rest was a big mansion. the cavern was all light up and has things like mushrooms and vines, it looked really cool.

It would be nice to have a mod that converts big stacks of dropped entities in one or more bigger stacks.
Like something that changes the entities dropped from stacks of 64 in stacks of 256 or bigger.
It would be just grouping to reduce the lag, when you get the items you'd still get the items in normal size stacks.

Some men just want to watch the world burn! Or in this case... explode.

Really nice cave you managed to get there though :D
