Perhaps it's just my mind deceiving me. But I have two packs installed that I play regularly, Monster, and DW20.

Monster by default has around 185 mods, DW about 140. Monster loads fairly quickly. DW after I add some of my favorite mods that aren't in the pack, takes probably close to twice the time the Monster pack takes. I was wondering what effects that amount of time to launch once I click "launch"?

Thanks.

You can always watch the console and see the difference. Generally I see a lot of red text when loading up DW20's pack. Most of it refers to textures and missing elements. But I don't know if that's what slows it down as I know nothing about programs.

Me either. I figured someone here might know what the dealio was. If that is indeed the case, is there anyway to fix that, or is it pretty much what we're stuck with?

What are these favorite mods you added?
Mods with lots of content and textures can take longer to load by themselves.

And chances are you are stuck with the wait.

For DW's pack I added the following

Gregtech
Power Converter's
Rotarycraft
Reactorcraft
Electricraft
Expanded Redstone
Big Reactors
Emasher's Resource
Eng. Toolbox
Gascraft
Defense
Advanced Genetics
Mekanism(core, generators, tools)
Ender IO
Extra Cells
Mariculture
Agriculte
EE3
Metallurgy
ExtraTiC
Gendustry

I know that is a lot of mods that I added, but only brings my count up to about 165.

Well there you go...
It's like being puzzled as to why your donkey's been crushed to death after placing a tonne of gravel on it's back, lol. Metallurgy it's self has a lot of textures to load up for all it's tools armor and blocks

TBH if your game can run that pack now you should be pleased and put up with the long load up time. Because there's no real way of speeding it up.

Gotcha. I wasn't so much complaining as I was wondering if there was maybe something wrong with my machine or w/e.

GregTech => Actually adds messages like "If your Log stops here, you were too impatient. Wait a bit more next time, before killing Minecraft with the Task Manager" followed by "Congratulations, you have been waiting long enough. Have a Cake".

And then there's reika's mods and metallurgy and mariculture.... and gascraft.... all of them add a lot of worldgen. Some of these are known to be top heavy on the PC.

It's expected. :)
