i7-2700K, 8 gigs of ram, and a GT240 (which is next on the upgrade list cos I want to be able to record MWO and GW2 at decent levels)

Recording onto a separate HDD helps alot with maintaining a good FPS. But yes, a good GPU is a must in order to play it and record it as well. I would recommend a 660Ti, best GPU for the price currently.

- Intel Core 2 (pre-release generation. Single core with hyperthreading)
- 2 Gb DDR 2 1200 RAM (Most of which is allocated to OS and development stuff)
- NVidia GForce 210 series (128Mb DDR5)
- Integrated sound
- Windows XP
- 2 monitors (1 which flickers and has color distortions, the other is primary)
- (Now retired due to a structural weakness in the headset design) Turtle Beach Earforce X-11, Now using a Plantronics headest
- Some generic Vaio (Alienware) keyboard
- Dynex (is that even still a company?) Mouse

Yeah, I need some new tech. I started to get a new PC, but my money went into gas and food instead (you know, eating is a good thing for you humans).

New stuff:
- Thermaltake level 10 Full tower case
- Thermaltake SP-630P Power supply (630 Watt)

I still need everything else...lol

Well, When I'm not home, I use an emachine. Very boring, not very fast, but it works.
When I AM home, however, I use a Build-a-PC. (Dunno what to call it really.)
I don't actually have all the stuff in front of me, but it's got the best things we could afford. (Except for the fact that the C drive is very small, and it doesn't save on the D drive by default.)

Intel I7 950
12 GB DDR3 RAM
Club3D HD 5850
Intel 320 120GB (OS)
2x2TB HDD (RAID1) for all my games/development/few backups/...
2TB for other not so important stuff

Few years old, so I want to upgrade but I'm not really in the need of better hardware ... so screw it until a game comes out I can't play decent.

I've got a nice setup, but PC parts in Brazil are quite expensive (and so is everything else, fuck this country), so it ended up costing a boatload of money. Worth it, I'd say.

Cooler Master HAF 922, EVGA GTX 580 (Stock), Intel Core i7 2600k (also stock, but planning to overclock it in the future), 16GB of RAM (4x4), about 3TB of storage.
CM Storm Sentinel Advance mouse, a generic somewhat cheap Logitech keyboard and a Samsung 21,5" monitor (intend to buy a new monitor and run a dual setup when I get some money).
I'd kill for a decent microphone and quality headphones, can't find any decent for a reasonable price, so I end up sticking to my 5$ mic and weird chinese headphones (I did check its stats before, and the frequency limits are quite nice, but the build quality is pretty crappy).
