Make a beautiful, yet terrifying, shrine to the aluminium gods out of various black and gold/butter-looking substances, with a block of lava in the middle. Sacrifice some of your aluminium to the gods via a portal to the pits of the Nether (aka lava,) and do the same to the aluminum gods (to please them so they don't send hundreds of aluminum cans full of carbon monoxide into your house to kill you in your sleep because they feel neglected because you didn't make a shrine to them.)

If you want to get technical, the original and now obsolete spelling of the word was "alumium" and then later changed to aluminum. The ium variant was introduced in a review of Sir Humphry Davy's book, not by the scientist who discovered it himself.

Honestly, I think it was a bad idea naming two objects so closely to begin with, as far as FTB goes. I would have called it alum or something entirely different.

So no, Lambert, I am not wrong. The etymology of the word speaks for itself.
no, you're still wrong. :)

:p

You do know that Sir Humphry Davy was English, right? Wouldn't that make the um spelling British English?

I know, I know. You think all Americans murder the English language. I don't entirely disagree, but if it was a Brit that does it, how can the Americans be blamed? :p

The English also invented the word soccer, then we realised that word was retarded and reverted back to football :)
