What are these unlabeled buttons on Gregtech machines?

I was looking for a way to allow gregtech machines to run at higher voltage, but inserting the transformer upgrades into the bottom slots seems to do nothing, and I have no clue what these unlabeled buttons do either. Like most things from Gregtech, it seems fairly undocumented.

the blue bolt is ment to transfer power from 1 machine to the next the block with a arrow on a block is auto eject into a chest the last one is to set the inputs from a single input to 2 seperate inputs to add upgrades just rightclick the machine with one in your hand

If you have a line of 4 gregtech machines that each need 32 eu/t and are configured to transmit eu through themselves, does that mean that supplying 128 eu/t to the first machine is exactly what is needed to power the whole line.

I know this might sound like a dumb question (and I'm not asking if my multiplication is correct), but I just wanted to be sure that that was the way the mechanic worked.

Well wouldn't it just send the other 96 to the other three, blowing up the next in line?

A LV transformer will break one 128 EU packet into four 32 EU packets, which would be exactly what your line of 4 machines needs.

The buttons aren't really documented but if you read through gregtech's site you can figure it out. He hasn't updated a tool tip for all the machines still in 1.4.7, I believe that some may be updated as of 1.5.2 beta releases. To use the a transformer upgrade you will need to shift + right click on the machine to upgrade it. It will consume an upgrade and the machine will now be able to accept a higher EU packet/t. In order to make the machine use more power you will have to also install an overclocker upgrade as well, 1 is sufficient to move to the next tier of power consumption.

I suggest you play around with power consumption and modules in creative mode to understand how they function or you will upgrade machines too far and they will require too much energy to operate.
