Hello guys! :)
I`m having some weird texture glitches. I have them with a imported texture pack (John Smith pack) and with default txures as well. So what happen is that zombies have no arms, creepers are allmost invisible, steve are missing the left side and right leg o_O And most of the passive mobs have limbs amputated allso. Chests are allso glitching out, beeing partial visible.
First I thought it was John Smith that was not up to date, but when the same problems are with the default pack as well, I think it is something else. Just to mention it, I do use optifine.
Anyone know anything about this, some help would be greately appreciated:)

While I am here, can someone link me some good and easy understanable tutorials or beginner guide for some of these mods? I`m overwhelmed by all there is to do, and just keep running in circles, utterly and completely clueless.
I have played vanilla since early alpha, and have not looked into mods at all before now, and I really want to understand all this. Because it`s awesome.:)

I'm having the same problem, and I've also got optifine installed. I'm using the standard texture pack though.

I'm still guessing it has something to do with optifine, I'm gonna disable it and see if it helps.

Can't really speak much to Optifine as I avoid it personally, however:

Like much with Minecraft, this gets pretty open-ended. There's a lot of jargon to sift through. A good starting question is: what's your goal?

For example, if you start out and want to maximize your resources and become a resource tycoon, you'll want to immediately look at something to double your ore throughput. The Thermal Expansion Pulverizer and the IC2 Macerator are just a couple of the items that'll get you started on that path, and they'll do it with rather different material requirements.

If you're more into adventuring, you may instead want to opt to visit the Twilight Forest, or start creating Mystcraft ages. Those are both other cans of worms to open and have their own pros and cons.

What's your poison? =)
