Problem Weird Crystal In Middle Of Screen

Hi, I've been playing FTB Infinity Evolved 1.7.10 with a few friends. After about 5 days, a weird crystal started appearing on my friend's screen:

The 'thing' follows him around everywhere, taking up a lot of his screen constantly. Does anyone know what it is?
