i was wondering if there was a way to disable the internal server for all the mod packs in FTB. the internal server makes it impossible for me to play single player.
The short answer is no. Mojang changed the way the game runs SSP after 1.2.5. The current method of running an internal sever unifies mods so we no longer need 2 diff versions if we like to play SSP and SMP. Of course I could be wrong, I'm not an expert, but this is my understanding of the game and Mojang's decisions with regard to it's design.
when i play on MP i get pretty good fps (60+) but when i am playing SP i get 3-6 fps with optifine installed.[DOUBLEPOST=1389817580][/DOUBLEPOST]also on vanilla minecraft i get upwards of 100 fps
Optifine has issues now a days with ftb and a lot of other mods. Try getting rid of that. As for fps SSP vs SMP, a lot of the processes in SMP are handled by the sever you are on so higher fps is to be expected since you PC does not have to do it. If getting rid of Optifine does not help then it may be time to think about upgrading your system. Till then I suggest going through the mod list in your pack and disabling mods you do not need or use. Mods on there own do not add a lot of processes but each do add a little and it all adds up. I run FTBLight2 with a few extras added for this reason.
