Fortunately, Drop Bears are endangered, so a chance encounter isn't likely. You're generally safe in the cities but play it safe all the same.

By the way, there hasn't been a fatal mauling reported this year so - touch wood - let's hope that trend continues ...

Not quite true, I can't be an Aboriginal Australian if I'm not an Aboriginal Australian, and no I'm not an Aboriginal Australian. But seeing as though being indigenous is not actually a prerequisite for being Australian, I am Australian.

I can't actually find any evidence that you must be aboriginal to define yourself as a member of any country you are a citizen of.
