Operating System, bit type:
"OS:amd64 Windows 8 6.2"

Java version/update, bit type:
"Java version: 1.7.0_51
Java vendor: Oracle Corporation
Java home: C:\Program Files\Java\jre7
Java specification: Java Virtual Machine Specification version: 1.7 by Oracle Corporation
Java vm: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM version: 24.51-b03 by Oracle Corporation"

Launcher version:
"FTBLaunch starting up (version 1.3.4)"

Completed the troubleshooting guide (y/n):
Yes (even performed a clean restart of computer/modem, disabling firewall, turning off antivirus, etc.)

Console log, pastebin.com link:

Description of the problem:
The issue im having is. My friend asked me to update the server to Monster version 1.0.9
went into my launcher to grab the server files
didn't see a "1.0.9"
decided to go to advanced options and change the download server to Maimi from recommended
but no servers were listed
looked at my log and saw a bunch of "Connection refused: connect: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect"
so i promptly made sure everything was up to date(Java, Reinstalled Launcher and deleted Appdata accordingly)
still having that connection error, so i rebooted my modem, restarted computer, turned off firewall and antivirus to see if that would change anything(yes i know, bad idea to turn firewall off, it was just to test)
but still having this issue
then i noticed the
"From Console: Jan 30, 2014 4:28:31 PM java.util.prefs.WindowsPreferences <init>
WARNING: Could not open/create prefs root node Software\JavaSoft\Prefs at root 0x80000002. Windows RegCreateKeyEx(...) returned error code 5.
Connection refused: connect: java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect"

i don't know what that means other than it has something to do with registry and permissions

hoping someone could lend me a hand
