Hey so im sick of paying hosting fees for a few years now and going to bite the bullet and buy a pc dedicated to running minecraft but there are so many options on how to build a low cost pc

of course things like graphics are not needed here but some key elements are good CPU, min 8 gigs ram, SSD and cooling

my last concern is im not in the know for good parts. my worries is what parts are good for long term use since a server runs 24/7 for months

any help in assisting a pc build will be great!, thanks

PS windows 7 is what im used to no linux please unless you want to give me your phone number so i can call to ask Linux questions non stop XD

Depends on your budget. The i5 4760 is pretty good. It uses the 1150 socket, so make sure you get a compatible motherboard.

Samsung 840 EVO is good for an SSD.

How big is your server? I run a small one for my friends and my CPU never goes above 50C with the stock fans. If you are paranoid just get some kind of aftermarket heatsink, like a H100i. It is an enclosed water-cooler so you can't accidently your entire computer if you don't know how to make your own water cooling setup. Also, get a case with good airflow and dust it out often. I recommend a case from the HAF series that meets your budget and needs.

Keep in mind you need a strong wired internet connection too.
