yeah I can understand this, and accept this when someone refuses to take their head out of their arse, then I get a little frustrated... MilConDoin puts it pretty well without the frustration inherrant in my posts so I'll just QFT him

This whole argument boils down on the name "Ultimate Pack".
Since we're on the FTB forums, every reader will associate the official FTB pack with that name, when reading the words "Ultimate Pack". The contents of this official pack will be known, when it is released. If said pack will change its contents over time, it will always be the "Ultimate Pack" by definition.
So if you're building your own pack by adding pack x + pack y + mods a-d and talk about it on these forums, please do us all a favor and don't call it "Ultimate Pack". Call it hyper pack, amazing pack, whatever pack. Just not "Ultimate Pack". This will reduce overall confusion by a large margin.

how about this, one guy puts a whole bunch of mods together (like dire and mindcrack pack combined) and called it "Ultimate". Is that the actual official ultimate pack? no. but can it be an "ultimate pack" for whoever put it together? yes. just because its not the official one doesnt mean that it cant be a good substitute until then... or a personal "Ultimate pack" theres nothing wrong with that people! jeebus...

FTB Magic World: Released, further mods that we hope to add include Ars Magicka and Mystcraft. This pack will be updated once these mods are updated and ready for release.

That doesn't mean it won't be included. Besides, I believe Slowpoke has commented that he's in contact with Mithion about Ars Magica. Wait for word from official sources because Mithion doesn't update his forum thread often and seems to do more on the Ars Magica wiki.

.. is there even any hope left that it will be ever released within an acceptable timespan? ... im a server owner we are stuck on the beta pack a (1.4.2) and are really looking forward to change to/restart with the ultimate pack.
.. we cant change to Direwolf's or the mindcrack pack, because there are not all of the mods.
And i really hope, if they call it "Ultimate Pack", that everything is included, gregTech, mystcraft, ee3, universal electricity, soul shards, mist peripherals, and all other basic and important mods...

Please you mod pack makers and modders, hurry up!

The problem is that there are a lot of us waiting for the official Ultimate Pack which is likely to have new mods not currently included in any FTB pack release... but there are also a lot of us who just want a pack that includes all mods in released FTB packs. Currently, the only way to achieve this is to combine the Direwolf20 and Mindcrack packs yourself.

I am not saying that you can create the official Ultimate Pack (note capitalization) yourself so we don't need to have any argument here.
