I am currently looking for a SMALL mature whitelist Mindcrack Server with an active group of mindcrackers. I have recently been playing on a friends server and it is getting extremely boring being the only one on the server almost every night. I would prefer the size to be no more than 10-15 members. Also prefer to be on a newly generated dedicated server with low lag. If you are interested in having me in your community i vow to be a contributing member. Thankyou

P.S. I decided to post here simply because i could not find any decent servers in the "server Promotion" tabs. all of them either have too many members or have mods disable that i would like to use "IE Chicken Chunks and Gregtech Gems"

I know my list of requirements is kind of extensive but i just want to play mindcrack with some cool people :) thankyou

I'm not really sure why that matters, as there is a subforum for servers, but good luck to you either way. You'll likely need it.

i have yet to play ultimate but i would assume it is similar as far as IC2 and whatnot goes. so long as it is a relatively new world with low population, Ultimate might be fun :)

I'll look into getting a server for it up and running. Been meaning to for quite some time now.

Random question; Are you a vet (animal doctor), a veteran of minecraft or a veteran of a war?
American slang/abbreviations and stuff confuse me :p

I'm sorry i did not think to clarify that. I am a minecraft Veteran only. Meaning I know the Etiquette and Rules that come with playing on a minecraft server.

So for one with max on 3 at a time I would need 3 gigs? Even if there was in total say 5 people that have played on it?

yeah it really depends on how many active members you have going. simply because I for instance use Geothermal energy which doesn't lag the server all that much accept for the chunk loader in the nether. But you may have somebody with tons of solar panels everywhere not connected which will use significantly more resources.

Roughly, yes. In some cases, chunkloaders will end up causing that to be an issue, so you'll want to factor that into the design by getting more RAM for the server near the endgame (when people are chunkloading) or restrict chunkloading.

for my usual setup i only need 2 chunk loaders but world anchors work just as well for my geothermal purposes. i have saw a few servers with chunk loaders/world anchors limited to 2 per person

Thats because loaded chunks add up. Sure a few are not a huge issue. But when you have say 50 people thats 100-900 (1x1 to 3x3) chunks just hanging out in memory. Not a huge issue on its own but chunk loaders are normally used for builds that by themselves are fairly lag inducing. Plus add Quarries to the mix (which act as a limited chunk loader of sorts) and it can quickly get out of hand if you don't limit the number each user can plop down.

If you like having a lot of loaders look for a smaller pop server to be honest they tend to be a bit more open to the whole idea of loaded chunks.

Yea I think a server with like 5 or so people would be perfect for me. So that is what I plan to do. CreeperHost should be okay right? Seeing as they directly support FTB...

Geo definitely lags quite a bit!
Lava pumping involves tons of liquid updates, as every time you remove a block all the other ones around it move. But its not a "low lag" way of gathering energy. Solars, wind, and some Buildcraft setup involving magma crucibles and thermal gens could provide less lag.
