Very low FPS?

How I got started with MC: I started watching Etho play MC a long time back (Before 50k subs). I'm going to presume everyone knows who Etho is. But I bought the game and Here i am.
What's my rating towards the most (in)famous troll in this forum: Who?
And most importantly; how many hours do I spend on this forum: Not going to spend tons of time, most likely be busy with Arena's on WoW and Playing Vanilla/FTB MC




I recently joined FTB because I seen the Mindcrack'ers play it and it seemed fun. But my main problem is terrible FPS? I get 50-60 FPS while playing Tekkit in HD texture pack, but i get like 7 fps with FTB without a HD Texture pack? I don't get it. If anyone has any fixes, please help.

64 Bit Java
64 bit OS
6 Gb Ram
