Very low FPS in FTB Infinity

If there's a repeatable issue that can be labeled as a bug, then please use the issue tracker for the pack or the app at GitHub issue trackers - If there's no repository for a pack that means that the pack is old and/or will not be updated. Title:
Very low FPS in FTB Infinity
Launcher Version:
1.4.7
Modpack:
FTB Infinity
Modpack Version:
1.7 (1.5.1) <----what it says on the launcher??
Log Link:
Details of the issue:
I have recently purchased an Alienware 17. Which is definitely more than capable of running Feed the Beast...
The specs are:
OS: Windows 8
CPU: I7 4710HQ 2.5 GHz
GPU: GTX 970M
RAM: 16GB (Allocated 8gb to FTB)
Java 64bit

I am consistently getting 10-20 FPS in game, I have tweaked the settings for the past 24 hours and I have had no results
I have searched through various different forums too for solutions with no result

I am curious if anyone knows if there is a specific mod pack in the latest version of Infinity that slows down the game as this is unplayable for me. And after having this powerhouse of a laptop, I expect not to have the FPS I am getting!

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks!

Allocate no more than 4GB of RAM to prevent Java garbage collection from causing issues. Your FPS is most likely due to Mystcraft profiling; let the game run for about an hour without doing anything and the profiling should either be finished or close to. Once it finishes your FPS will return to normal and you'll never have to deal with that in that world again. Or just remove Mystcraft. Your call on that one.

Edit: Also force Java to use your Nvidia card, otherwise it runs on the integrated chip which will severely limit your frame rate.

Does the profiling continue to execute while paused? I play hardcore and every second counts the first night.

You're probably running java on your integrated graphics.
Disable it in bios, or check the Nvidia control panel an option to force java to use your discrete card instead.
