Using worlds from old saves

I would like to start a server using one of the FTB packs and add our community's old vanilla (bukkit) map as a separate dimension.

Any ideas would be immensely appreciated.

I assume I'd have to be sure the map was update by Minecraft to the same MC version as that in the FTB pack I'd use.

Can this be done with Multiverse or Mystcraft?

Can I simply create another dimension folder with the vanilla world's regions inside and use any mod or plugin (assuming MCPC+ or BukkitForge) to transport players to and fro?

I think .... Mystcraft, create a dimension, then pop your region file into the new dimension folder.

(I think you also have to do something with the dimension gen file in mystcraft)

Now for some fun. Also going to try to use mIDas-gold to convert a modded world.
