Hi every one I am having a problem, awhile ago the launcher changed so that the max allowance that I can have it give Minecraft is 1 gig where as before I had it on 3 gig's. Is there a way that I can change it back so that I can use 3 gig's again?
using the launcher to increase the RAM allowance.

Even running Optifine and a 128x pack heavily modded, I don't need that much RAM dedicated to Minecraft.

Thanks for the help but I can't seem to find the download for a 64 bit version for java.
Can you give me a link please?You need to go to the java website, and pick the 64 bit version instead of the default.
The problem, though, is that java x64 simply won't work unless your system is 64 bit - most new systems are, some older systems aren't. If you're in windows, for instance, this should be listed in the system information.
