Hi all!

My question is simple. Is there a way to power a quarry using nuclear power? Since the PowerConverters mod is disabled by default in Unleashed I wondered if there is an alternative?

Maybe I didn't make myself clear enough, not my native language, sorry.

With powerconverters I had a change of hooking up my quarry directly with my nuclear reactor, so reactor-energybridge-quarry. I wondered if I can do something similiar in Unleashed now as the mod is disabled. I dislike using engines with my quarries, I just want to hook them up to my nuclear reactor. Any way of doing that?

Like already been said, you can do that with electrical engines. They come from Forestry and you connect your EU power plant to it. By default it uses 6 EU/t and creates 2mj/t but you can upgrade them to be quite good. You said that with power converters you could hook the reactor directly to the quarry. Now that is not really true, the power converers were between them. Electrical engines work the same way, they are in between your EU -- MJ systems. So reactor --> electrical engine(s) --> Quarry.

Take a look here: http://ftbwiki.org/Electrical_Engine

Without power converters (which you also just could enable) there is no alternative that i'm aware of.

I completely misunderstood! Now I get it though. So without the PowerConverters it would be quite decent to hook up electrical engines to my nuclear reactor, connect those engines to a redstone energy cell and connect that cell to an energy tesseract for example (Since we dont have phase pipes anymore)?

Not quite. Electrical engines generate rf not mj and so now mj can't be used to fill an energy cell. I would recommend using mekanism universal cable...

http://ftbwiki.org/Electrical_Engine Says that Electrical engines produce MJ. Is that wrong then?
In your first post you said

but you no longer can connect Mj producers (like those engine) to thermal expansion cells. This is because thermal expansion has switched to a different power system known as redstone flux or rf for short. Trying to connect Mj energy pipes to a energy cell is like trying to connect a copper cable to the energy cell...

Thanks for the information Not_Steve and thanks for clearing that up Chris Becke! Big thanks for helping me to figure this out all of you!

Glad we could help.

Not_steve is with his mind on the 1.6 packs I guess. You're on the 1.5 Unleashed pack and in that version there is no RF, don't need to worry about that stuff.
