So I have had a problem with Mystcraft ages and quarrys when I shutdown minecraft and then latter go back to play on the world I have to go to the age to get the quarry to load and work, is there a way to get the quarry to load when I start up the world?

P.S. I am playing on the direwolf20 pack.

Do you have a chunk loader/Spot loader/World Anchor in the same chunk as the quarry?

They do. It really shouldn't be a problem. Umm try turning off the quarry until you log back in then turn it on?

Quarries stop chunkloading when you exit the world in SSP or the server restarts in SMP. Chunkloaders don't have that problem.

I don't believe that to be true. Quarries work just fine in the overworld dimension and continue to run after server resets and when no-one is logged in, but they don't work in other dimensions, not even with chunk loaders as we tested this on our server. There has been discussion about this in the past (as well as on the mystcraft forums) and it is intended behaviour for mystcraft worlds to unload when no-one is logged on or the server resets, according to the mod author.

While chunk loaders do NOT work, world anchors DO, BUT... if you place them in the same chunks as your quarry to keep it running in a mystcraft world you'd wind up with crashing issues and possibly result in a corrupted world too as the 2 different types of chunk loading (quarry & world anchor) conflict with each other.

the overworld is automatically reloaded on server restart, which is why the quarries fire back up. For mystcraft ages, you have to force the age to load on server restart by visiting. This is the same for chunk loaders.

If you want, use a world anchor somewhere that isn't overlapping your quarry, and keep them fed with enderpearls. When the server restarts, that age will be loaded, and the other chunk loading apparatuses will then be loaded I believe.

That is not happening in my SSP. My Mystcraft worlds will not load until I visit them, regardless of the presence of world anchors/chunk loaders. Also, personally, I'd recommend changing the railcraft config to disable the need for fuel. That's intended as a balancing issue for servers, and not relevant for SSP.

i understand you need to visit the world to get the quarry's to load now but now I'm having an issue where when i try going to my age I get disconnected with a notice that "end of steam reached" and the server crashes and has to be restarted.... any ideas ...thanks in advance

Sounds to me like something got corrupted... Possibly open the Dim up in an editor or maybe try teleporting to the age in creative. Willing to bet something got corrupted, I had this issue with the Nether some time ago and ended up having to reset it (endothermic pump killed the nether).

Worst case scenario, you can delete the age folder and when you use the book again it'll recreate... You'll loose anything in the age but sounds like you might have anyway.

Third option, wait to see if someone else comes up with something better :p.
