Hello.

I have a long running minecraft lets play in the Techworld 2 Pack that I call the quest for fusion, I added Gregtech and disabled MineFactory because of a UI issue and my objective is to build a GregTech Fusion reactor. I am just really slow at getting to it.

Now Techworld 2 pack is a pack running Minecraft version 1.6.4 and the mods are really out of date by this point.

Is there an up to date version of Techworld that someone knows about?

Your biggest obstacle is going to be your primary objective: Fusion.

The problem is that by updating your mods you're going to lose GT Fusion since the later versions of GregTech do not (yet) have it. If you decide to pursue this, you'll need to either hope Greg gets around to fusion (don't expect it in 2015 imo), or look for another tech mod that has it (such as, say, ReactorCraft).

Reactorcraft's version of fusion is honestly more fun to get, much harder, and more interesting IMO.

I get the impression it might be appropriate for GenJeft's pack as well. (I would argue that in a given modpack, switching out GT and inserting ReC,RoC and starting with absolutely nothing, you could build Reika's fusion considerably faster than Greg's, but that's a product of the mods rather than the fusion mechanisms specifically)

It would only become problematic if there was a hardcore balance being designed; it would have to center around RoC/ReC since those mods aren't nearly as friendly as others when it comes to inter-mod balancing/compatibility.

However I don't really sense that that's the idea here.

It does not have to be gregtech fusion. But gregtech will be staying since its such a large portion of my base now. I have looked at reactorcraft fusion and debated it but did not really persue it since there is no real online wiki for it and in my version of the mod that's in TechWorld2 the book for reactor craft is not available. I tried to craft it and it does not exist.

I am not really in the mood to start over from scratch.
 
If you're looking for an "updated" version of TechWorld, then you're going to have to start from scratch. There aren't any alternatives, because there's zero compatibility between GT5 and GT4.
