Hello all,

Recently after launching FTB I received a notification saying there is an update, naturally I clicked yes thinking that it would be fine and it is just updating a few mods, however after updating, I cannot connect to my friends minecraft server.

Now all I get when I try to log in is this : Forge mod Loader could not connect to this server. The mods and vbersions listed below could not be found. They are required to play on this server;

WR-CBE:Core : 1.3.2.8
WR-CBE:RedPower : 1.3.2.8

mmmPowersuits : 0.2.2-170
ChickenChunks : 1.3.1.0

GraviSuite : 1.7
StevesCarts : 2.0.0.a61
Mystcraft : 0.10.0.00
WR-CBE:Addons : 1.3.2.8

All help is appreciated, thank you.

Ok I just had the same problem and what you need to do i go to where your mod pack is located and delete the file and then redownload the modpack to the correct version as the server

I just found this site, looking to post the exact same thing.

Problem is, I downloaded all new files for the client, and I mean even scrubbed out the registry...went with a fresh download of the FTB launcher and ....same thing.

EDITED to add:

I know the problem is on my PC only, as a couple of my friends that hadn't yet patched can still connect to the server and play just fine, as can my daughter on her PC. Its only me that cannot and gets the error.

I told them all to not patch for now, and they're still up and playing.

More testing!

Grabbed a copy of the client side files from the kids' PC.

Deleted everything on mine that has anything to do with minecraft, ftb, any of it. Searched through the registry for FTB*.*, feedthebeast*.*, mojang*, I mean anything I could think of. Heck, I found the entries for running the executable as admin for all users and deleted those on general principles!

New folder on a different hard drive. Download a fresh copy of the FTB launcher. Enter my username/pass. Before launching, I hit 'edit mods' and verify there is NOTHING in any of the folders....and they're empty. I drag the console window over to another monitor to make sure I can see it and launch.

It downloads from creeperrepo the first 29MB update, then the jar files. It starts unpacking, yada yada. Before getting to the main MC windows, I have these errors:

err1_zps09a5c03b.png

Then, further down:

err2_zpsb9bbbe87.png

Next:

err3_zps7cd0b86d.png

At this point, I get to the main MC launch screen. All my saved info is gone, so I have nothing listed and no local saved games.

err4_zps92e5cc90.png

I hit up the blank multiplayer list and go to add my preferred server IP address, and as soon as I hit 'multiplayer':

err5_zps7bf08fd5.png

It allows me to add the IP addy of my preferred server, but I get as far as 'logging in' and BANG, the error screen pasted above, listing the mods that need updating.

OK, got it.

There was another place I wasn't finding in my searches!

Turns out...apparently, one time, I launched the FTB mod from a 'download' directory ... I have no recollection of doing this, but obviously I did....anyhow, it was using, somehow, and outdated partial download of some mod files from there. None of them were feedthebeast.exe, or anything you would think to search for, which is why I couldn't find them earlier. They were on my "G" drive, for cryin' out loud.

Cleaned THOSE out, a bunch of jars and old MODS folders....pasted in a copy of the client files from my daughters PC. And now I can get in . YAY!

Still, something that should definitely be looked at. I'm also 'not patching' for now, for obvious reasons.

Ok thanks for all the replies, keep them coming just in case anyone is suffering from the same problem and my solution doesn't work. However I managed to make mine work by going on the FTB launcher and then in the top right corner there will be a "launch from" drop down menu or something like that, I needed to launch from 5.2.1 for it to work. I'm assuming servers don't support 5.3.1 at the moment or something like that.

It's not really that, the client and the server need to be on th same version. As long as the server owner doesn't update the server you need to keep playing on the old version.

I'm having the same problem, but I would like to update the server. I'm not great with this technical stuff, so how do I go about updating the server?:)
