The problem with that is that even if my public players don't care, my friends who have been playing on the server for two years do. They won't play anymore if they lose all of their stuff because of how much time they put into it and I understand. Some of them made incredibly massive, detailed structures that probably took forever to make. I want to update so we can enjoy the Vanilla stuff that comes with the newer versions. It seems that IC2 is causing all of the problems so I'll do what I can to try to fix it. If not, then I don't know.

If it was just an update from direwolf20's 1.5.2 pack then it would not be too bad, yes there can be issues, but when you go from one version of minecraft to another in which there are a number of changes, including missing mods, then that is when it gets a lot more complicated.

If you and you friends really want to try and go to the 1.5.2 pack then I suggest you do some research and try and fix it yourself. If you want to post crash logs then go ahead somebody may help you out.

I'm trying to use mIDas gold 0.2.5 and no matter which ID I try to convert or how many I try at one time, it always freezes on this one chunk. What can I do about it?

Where did you get that version of the program? The current one is 0.3.2 here.

If after getting this and still does not work then I am not sure what to do.

I tried the other version (Gold 0.2.5) because 0.3.2 will not run for me no matter what I do. I have Java and everything so I'm confused because I have never had a Jar just not run for me before unless there was something wrong with it. I have tried this on my own computer and my remote server computer. When I try to run it manually I get this error:

After a long debate we decided to update our old world to 1.1.3. Even though we already started a new world, there were some users like you that would like to keep their builds in our old world. Here is how we did our update from DW20 1.1.2 to 1.1.3. It took the better part of 8-10 hours to accomplish. First off there is the crashes. This for us was because of non-liquid IDs in liquid pipes. We loaded the 1.1.2 world up and removed ALL pipes. This included BC pipes and Liquid ducts, etc. You could also remove any AE systems as these will break with the update, even though we didn't at the time (they were just gone when we updated). Also effected were ender tanks and ender chests. After these items were removed from our world we updated to 1.1.3. This allowed us to load up the world and not crash immediately. We then took the time to spawn in items to fix our setups. We did this sorta "creative" mode thing for a while till enough stuff was set back up. Then we destroyed all the spawned in extras. For us, it was the piping, electrical cables, and AE systems that were basically "gone" after the update. And the liquid error that was crashing the us at first. Like I said it took some time to fix everything, but we've been playing now like normal for a few days and everything seems fine. Well besides some weird problem with tinker's construct arrows that keep showing up in my inventory every time I go to the nether. Not sure if this has to do with the update or is some other bug though.

Sorry I can't help with direct ID ports or anything like that because that was not the option we decided to go with. Although I'm sure it can be done, the mapping is of course tricky. I just wanted to post how we were able to update our world. In the end I don't think it was worth the time invested, but some of our users are happier now. So that's a good thing I guess :)

The problem is that their server is a 1.4.7 not a 1.5.2 one.

I think I'll look into the problematic chunk. If it's unimportant, then I'll delete it and have a fresh one generated with MCEdit.

Deleting the bad file allowed me finish converting the server, which allowed it to work with 1.5.2. The problem is that now I get this error when I start the server and the corresponding items no longer work. I'm not sure if it's because of leftovers from 1.4.7 or something but I don't mind temporally losing these, or permanently if it's just leftover code and I'm not supposed to have them. I just want to know.

Well as long as it doesn't cause any problems, is there any reason to worry about it?

The only thing I would say that will cause problems is the Wireless items as they were from a chickenbones mod. The mod has now been replaced because the previous versions were dependent on redpower2.
