4966 I understand why homework is done, as it's a good way of getting practice with the work. If they just lecture in class, you won't necessarily understand it. I'd prefer it if it wasn't required or at least less busywork, as that way I'd be able to say, I understand it, I don't need the practice.

4975 I'm the same way, but I tend to ignore the conversation for a while before joining, and I don't know why. It like I'm subconsciously saying "invade the conversation"
