Unusual Items in Recipes? - Discussion Thread

Heyo - FTB Forums! ~

I thought it would be neat to make a thread for people to discuss about blocks or items that are simply not getting to much attention (as flint, sponges, slimeballs, etc.) - or just discuss recipes in general.

For example - do you guys think that recipes should be more realistic? Or more simplistic, considering this is Minecraft?

I would love to read you guys's opinion on this and everything related - so, have fun! ~
 
Someone needs to make a mod that uses flint for most of it's recipes.
Gold needs more love. I always end up with a lot of gold.
Lead and Silver need more love. The only mod that really uses a lot of lead is Factorization. Silver is just kind of useless.

I do want to mention, while we're in a thread named "Unusual Items in Recipes? - Discussion Thread", that iron helmets flashing up as an ore dictionary replacement for sticks is hilarious. The fun of making an iron pick out of 100% iron is awesome, if it worked.

Like some recipes like insert [item] here say Minecraft in general a furnace recipe needs not only fuel but a starter like leaves or wood filings to start the coal or whatever

Mass produce TE machines, Factorization, and use Iguana tweaks. Now you have a use for all of them :P
And they are all usefull!
Still got to much gold?

Also - my opinion is - you can never have too much of anything! Going to your ME Terminal and seeing 2B of Cooblestone or Gold is simply the best feeling - something that here in Brazil some "not-very-smart" kids like to call: "ostentação". Please don't look that up.

All the meaning behind it - it's dificult to explain... Actually! Now that I thought about it - 'ostentação' is almost the perfect translation for 'swag'! - Oh my living mother of Satan - that explains why everyone that says 'ostentação' works at MacDonald! *gasp*
