So I was playing around with Thaumcraft 3 and a bunch of wisps spawned. So I got the Goggles of Revealing and found some unstable nodes around the house. How do you get rid of the nodes? or at least lower the flux

Sadly this is not easy.
First you must gather enough pure nodes together, and nurse them slowly together until they merge.
Then you must slowly bait the pure node closer and closer to the unstable node.
Lastly, the larger node will win this contest between the two tyrant size nodes as they merge.

Bad news, every stage of this will spray more and more flux into the world, whisps everwhere, storms from clear skies and monsters summoned of unearthly kinds.
Hm... I didn't know this was possible?
How do you manually move nodes? I thought the only way to modify and change nodes was planting silverwoods and making crystal clusters? Can you elaborate on this, please? :)

I didn't accurately describe the mechanic.
It's one of those things like how the doctor describes a situation and then says, "It's nothing like that, but if it helps you, think of it that way."

Be careful, you can over do it. I created a node that was about 800 strong, which was fine for a couple days. Then over the span of a couple of hours it ate six nodes, ones from hundreds of blocks away. All my poor golems were murdered by wisp and I require a stack of arrows and a double helping of luck to make it across my base alive. The node is now at 1566, I hope it is full.

You wouldn't happen to have any crystal clusters around, would you? In any case, I recommend investing in some suped up armour. But 7-8 blocks diameter... If that node isn't a standard or pure one, you should seriously consider moving somewhere far away from there

No clusters, and yes it is pure, thankfully. I am trying to move it inside that structure, but the thing will not budge.

I hope that dangerous flux level is only a side effect of the merging of nodes and not created by the node itself or you might wanna start over lol

It is over max because it is eating every other node on the map. There seems to be some kind of diminishing returns thing or something so that the max doesn't go up by the full amount of the vis it gains.

Nope, it is all from merging. Any change in the aura generates flux, depleting it would only increase the flux. If it was smaller, and not half inside something I could build a box around it to contain the wisp, as I've done with smaller nodes.
