Unleashed - Villager trading

So I'm having trouble acquiring even one emerald and I'm currently trying to sort out villager trading so I can buy one, but all the villagers only buy emeralds. The only exception is a villager who buys 23 pistons for an oreberry bush.

What are my options here? I've tried creating new houses but they seem uninterested in breeding. Will the piston villager eventually sell emeralds if I keep selling junk to him?

Go to an extreme hills biome (or if BoP is on, to any forest-type biome) and dig. Find emeralds. Trade with villagers.

You seem to be in bad luck. There is usually always a few villagers that trades you emeralds for wool, wheat etc. If you know another village try and go there and have a look. You could also try making the.. drawing a blank here. The block that lets you trade directly with all nearby villagers(someone will probably be able to supply its name). You could try and put it down and see if you missed any villagers with any favourable trades.

If this feature is in 1.5 TiCo, you could always chuck a few villagers into a Smeltery and get some emeralds out of it. Just check their books before you do this to make sure.

I'm fairly certain it wasn't fully implemented until one of the 1.6.4 builds. I remember you could melt them down, but you couldn't do anything with it.
