So microblocks show up in my NEI, but with no recipe, and I've checked Chickenbones's Minecraft forum thread but that offers no insight or help that I can find. How does one craft microblocks?

That's probably Immibis' microblocks disabling the viewing of recipes to help reduce delay. You should be able to put a saw and another block in a 2x2 crafting grid to get a microblock of that block.

Cool, will check that out. But one question, I thought the mod in Unleashed was the Forge Microblock by ChickenBones and not the Immibis version? Or have I got terribly confused somewhere along the line?

It's probably the Immibis version, last time I checked Chickenbones' version wasn't finished yet.
It is CB's version, it released with Unleashed and DW20_1.5.

If you've ever used either RP2 or Immibis microblocks, it's basically the same as both of them. You craft a handsaw (this recipe is in NEI, go with diamond), then put the saw in the crafting grid with blocks to cut them down to micros. The recipes don't show in NEI, but if you play with it a bit you'll figure out the logic of it. The recipes are shaped, and you can cut horizontally (to make slabs and covers, etc) and vertically (to make strips and columns, etc)

DireWolf20 recently made a nice Mod Spotlight for MultiPart explaining the features and what it adds and the recipes for the microblocks.

It doesn't really matter. Most of the mods don't seem to be using the API yet. The biggest use for covers were to stop pipes or wires from connecting or showing in a wall, but you can't place them in the same block as Rednet Cabling or Buildcraft pipes. Not yet anyways.

True, can you imagine the amount of sadness inside of me when I can't encase the rednet cables with the hollow covers. T-T)

Yeah, been playing with the covers, they don't seem to work with anything except Vanilla :( and I so wanted to cover up my cables and wires.

It allows for nice hidden light sources... but equally as microblocks don't block light they allow light through that some you don't want.

I assume support for using covers with mod items should be coming soon. It seems like Multipart was only released in it's current state so WirelessRedstone could be released.

An interesting note for these blocks [at least something I was unaware of]. The microblocks in unleashed will block/absorb a redstone signal!

Setting up my bee lab's genepool. DNA gets piped out the top via liquiducts, and the connection needs to be powered. It's located in a corner of the room, so I removed a window and plopped down a redstone torch. Verified DNA was moving, both visually and in the machine's GUI. Then I remembered Unleashed has a version of microblocks, so I threw some glass covers around the torch. Went away for a bit and noticed no DNA was flowing. Machine GUI said "tank was full" but the other end of that liquiduct is a max-size steel tank and I had only just started processing my waste bees. Verified steel tank nearly empty and Tesseracts config'd properly. Then I remembered the glass cover I put between the torch and the pipe. Removed that cover and DNA was flowing again.

I don't remember this being the case for RP2's microblocks and I realize these ain't those. Also, the cover was able to sit inside the same block space as the torch. Also, can't use them to cover over placed redstone dust...unless I'm just doing it wrong?
