In my experience (I lived in one for a while) the aura nodes in the TC3 barrows don't usually spawn whisps (don't know whether it's a node type thing, or just too much flux to get rid of that way). I got mostly giants and witches.

The giant's were fine, as I allowed the daylight to kill them. The witches caused problems when there were 3 or 4 wandering outside. They're mean when they gang up!

Lol cant be worse than what I had squid, my mindcrack server that bit the dust I had a 3k/2k node from crystal clusters, thankfully only the purple and red wisps seem to be particularly hostile, and dont have that buzzing effect from TC2.

As for the Dark nodes, wisps spawn from flux, dark nodes generate flux. Im not sure if the wisps spawn directly from the node, I think they do but dont quote me.

well, most of the time they spawn close to it. And how can you tell how big the node is? like the 2k or whatever.

seriously GIANTS! and no that is not part of the dungeon its part of the flux the aura node generates and the only way to destroy an evil/dark node is to get a bigger pure node from silverwood trees to combine in a massive pure node
Yes, that is part of the dungeon, as they always contain an evil node.
I am not saying that you will only find it with dungeons, but dungeons will always be generated with that stuff.

Same goes for the wisps.

But guys, I am very disappointed...
The very post after the one where I ask NOT to spoil, someone spoils it.
Not cool, you could at least have put it in spoiler...

Yeah, I have goggles, but I only see a floating ball of blarhg in the middle or the air, that isn't really helpfull...
You also have a gauge and two bits of text in the bottom left corner.
The number and the gauge can tell you how big the node is.

The vis has two numbers (X/Y).
Y is the capacity of the node, so a "bigger" node could hold more vis.

Or maybe I totally didn't understand your problem.

Well, my nodes are always X/600, never above 700, I haven't seen one 2k.

The node I had was artificially inflated through lots of planted Silverwoods, and Crystal Clusters, the clusters overclock the nodes which causes flux so I had wisps all the time.

yes that is a thaumcraft dungeon that will contain two mob spawners normally zombie and skeletons and will contain 4 vanilla chest contains typically normal dungeon loot plus some thaumcraft goodies such as fragments ingots etc
