Do you feel that Unhinged should include GraviSuite and Advanced Solar Panels mods?

I really enjoy Gregtech and all the challenges it has to offer. But not implementing the gravichest plate or the UHSP/HSP/ASP is very troubling. I know that it is possible to add these mods to the unhinged pack, but I was really hoping to play SMP for the new modpacks and this is very disappointing. I'm hoping that Mindcrack will be updated to 1.5.2 soon and I won't have to feel gimped with my play style. Any suggestions or feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Unhinged is set per Greg's own specifications on what mods are included. One could infer his preference is that compact high energy just not even be included and that the GraviSuite items are beyond what he'd put alongside GregTech.

Sadly, I understand this fact. But just how am I supposed to power my matter fabricator at full power? Mass Thermal/Geothermal? It just seems kind of odd :/ I really hope the Mindcrack team delivers on this one.

Those, Lightning Rod, Nuclear, Fusion... there's a certain progression to the power outputs in GregTech, and playing it sans the major solar consolidation mods really emphasizes scrambling for every scrap of EU to climb up the ladder.

I wouldn't hold my breath on the MindCrack team pulling through on this. There's a collective held breath as we all look at the new landscape for how this is all going to work post-1.6. Why reset twice when you can hold and only reset once?

I agree with you, it just sucks seeing my two favorite mods get swept under the rug. I will just continue to play Mindcrack until a better option arises. Thanks for your input and I will try to keep an open mind while playing online without these mods in the future.

Isn't the whole point you play Gregtech kinda invalidated when you start using super solar panels?

No it is not. It is the 2nd best way to get the Matter Fabricator running at full power. The challenge of just making the panels is very rewarding. The investment you put into making the UHSP is worth the free energy IMO. They are also very useful for getting the mats needed for the fusion reactor, which is the ultimate end game for eu generation.

Yes the "point" is invalidated but fun is generated for some people when Gregs "point" gets invalidated.
Greg Tech does actually have some nice toys to mess with but some people find there are too many hoops to leap through.

Edit: I voted Unhinged is fine as is, despite not playing it nor intending to.

i dont need gravitation suit, but compact solars or advanced solar are kinda needed because you dont wanna set up hundreds of solars, it would cause some lag.

Thats the point. The solar panels are meant fer a "cheap" consistent method of preducing small amounts powere (not for making hundreds).
And the direction that gregtech started to take, is that mashines have some kind of "durability" as they have to be repaired by time. So an solar pannel which just rruns forever with only a onetime investment is pretty much against the road greg takes with his mod.
((Furthermore, the change that was made a while ago, that made it so, that stone and all direct products of it cant be recycled (in combination with the fact, that the matter-fab cant run jsut with power) somewhat shows that greg wants you to constantly put resources into your builds insted of a build an forget kind of system ))

To add to this, for all GT generator mulit blocks you have to check them every few Hours just to keep them from losing efficiency. I hated the Steam Turbine not being able to automate cause if you had like say 40 boilers this micro task is like taking out trash cans for an hour. If you had many of these dumb GT generators then your head is going to go crazy once you find it's is an actual chore on a SMP server that is 24/7 and you want it keep on turning up power. There should be high end solutions for maintenance to reduced then even a end game solution to get rid of all maintenance. So a huge plant isn't forced to be worked on every single day constantly during the game days. I rather spam small gas turbines and call it a day once and your done!

Disable your chunkloaders when you log off from server (or after an hour from last press of chunkloader activating button). This way it won't be such a chore and it won't cause server load for other players.
