to make 1 thing clear, it was never meant for IC2 tools to be enchanted. this became possible after the introduction of enchanted books.
a developer of IC2 also said that they have not accounted for IC2 tools to be enchanted, and enchanting them may cause unwanted side-effects.

now onto unbreaking on a diamond drill, I think it won't have any effect, you could try it out, but I think it won't work.
I do know that silk touch work on a drill, since I have a silk touch drill myself.

Thanks!

And yeah im aware that it wasnt never intended but Repairing diamond pickaxes is stupid expensive and pointless 30-50-cant repair is annoying

And there are NO repair mods out there anymore so i really dont have a choice :/

But you can still enchant GT rock cutter, so.. efficiency 3-5 + silktouch + chargeable :D.

i think that how the rechargeable tools were first coded was based upon tool damage. it is my understanding that the charge indication is no longer coded as damage. so an unbreaking enchant wouldn't interact with the tool the way you were viewing it as anyways. :)

Simple. Don't over-enchant your tools, so you can still repair them. Use rubies or sapphires because they are more common. Replace them if you fancy a change of enchantment. The "I want an infinite diamond pick that's cheap to repair" attitude is just silly. I had Fortune and Efficiency on my diamond drill, but it disappeared and that's fair enough because it was an exploit. I now use a thaumium pick axe with fortune and repair if I find something valuable that fortune gives.

You can also max enchant a diamond pick, and every time you want to repair it, you rename it and it will be pretty cheap.

But in any case is a waste of diamonds and time, I use elemental tools/hand (power tool)

Or get lucky and get the Repair enchant for Thaumium and simply don't overuse it in times of need...
Thaumium can also mine Obsidian, if that's what you are having issues with...

It's actually easier to repair TC3 tools (be it either by enchantment or an anvil) than any other tool, as you can convert materials around what you need on the fly. Course, you are dipping into your overall metal reserves while doing so, but this is coming from the guy who makes metal from xycraft constantly.. (lol)

A thamium pickaxe with repair 1 can survive everything that you normally use it for, besides the bore, of course. Well, every tool/armor in thaumcraft can survive with repair 1 (unless in the nether or end) besides, in my opinion, the wand of equal trade, with that one be careful.

if you don't mind the experience cost, you should think about adding the Better Anvils mod
www.minecraftforum.net/topic/1576006-147better-anvils-removes-the-level-limit/

basically what it does is remove the level cap on the anvil.

Tartarus.. I mean at work. Same thing really.
The level cap is kinda pointless given how expensive exp is above lvl 30.

Repair II thaumium picks will die in netherrack or marble if you're not careful (especially if you have efficiency)
But if you're stupidly lucky with enchants, you might get a combination of repair and unbreaking.
(you can't do it with books, and changing those two or recombining with another pick will remove one of them)

wrong twice: you CAN'T get repair + unbreaking at the same time, azanor said so, and I used better enchanting to enchant 20+ tools and that never happened.
And if you have a repair tool, you can add unbreaking to it with books, azanor said so because he cannot mess with the vanilla code (he made repair incompatible with unbreaking, but he can't make the same thing backwards) and I also have been doing that for all my tools and armor.

The only reason I beg to differ is because I got unbreaking III repair II on a pick through the enchanting table. (Mindcrack 8.01 I think).
I'm probably in 3 figures with the amount of thaumium/elemental tools/armour I've enchanted, and its only happened once. So unless it was a glitch with that iteration of the modpack, it's kinda rare.

I think there's a spare unbreaking book kicking around my place, I'll try it that way instead. (if thats the case, than the table probably bugged through that same mechanic, giving me both at the same time)
