Unable to start a ventrilo server for use on minecraft!

I am trying to start a ventrilo server so me and my friends can use a team speak while playing minecraft. I downloaded the server from the ventrilo website, forwarded port 3784 (im not sure if this is the port it runs on but it was mentioned in youtube tutorials), and ran the server.

Noone, including myself, can connect to the server. S.O.S.!!

Normally the usual port for a Minecraft server is 25565, try porting the Ventrilo server there.

No. Just no. We are not going to give tech support to everything under the sun here. This is a forum for supporting FTB mod packs, not Ventrilo.
