Windows .exe Unable to load SMP or SSP

Every time I go to launch, game crashes out after about 30 seconds.
I have updated Java.
I have made sure its on the desktop, in a folder with its name having no spaces.
Still no joy.
I see the last entry os out of memory. But i have run FTP on this computer before! Its only since the new launcher that its crapping out :/

Seems that a lot of people are having issues with this new version.
Yet, my flatmate gets it to work straight away. Think I will smother him in his sleep and steal his computer

check your installed applications list. make sure there is no older versions of java listed as this can cause issues.

Ahh, cheers, will have a look. I saw someone post something about checking the registry for the same thing, but this makes more sense.

checking the registry can be a good idea as a fail safe if nothing appears in your apps list, just to be sure.
