I have tried synching up my clock which did not work, though that may be because I live in Asia.

Also tried putting it in an empty folder and running it, no success.

Can you explain what the problem is you are having?

Edit: I think your problem is that you need to put the launcher in its own folder.

The problem I have is that after launching the launcher, it just gets stuck at "please wait while we're loading mods"

Also, I tried putting it into an empty folder, still dosn't work.

I can't possibly list everything that is loaded up, but I'm sure there's nothing that is loaded up java-related.

I was referring to programs you've chosen to run, like an internet browser, skype, teamspeak, etc.
