Mac Unable to load modpacks

Hello everyone I am trying to run FTB on a brand new macbook air running osx version 10.8.2, and everytime I try to load any modpack it goes to the point of forge initializing and then crashes. Any help would be greatly apreciated

what java version are you running? if its java 7 try going back to java 6 macs seem to not like java 7

You seem to know the facts... I just got a school computer which I do not have admin perms (I can do ANYTHING that doesn't require them) and the laptop we all got is a Macbook Air, they are brand new and running Mountain Lion 10.8.2, though I cannot download old Java versions in the java archive because you need to download them with built in software from Mac snow leopard. I do have another Mac 10.6.8 laptop with Java 6 Installed on it, could I move the files to and from the computer?

If you are not up to testing the transfer of files, that I'm not sure will work, you can update your lwjgl files. I've heard that this fixes it so you can use Java 7 on a Mac.
