Hey, long time user and absolutely love the service given by FTB. Just ran in to a bit of a problem after not playing for a while. Whenever I try to launch any mod pack the launcher just freezes and gives me errors.

PC Details :
OPERATING SYSTEM:
Windows 8
CPU TYPE:
Intel® Core™ i5-3210M CPU @ 2.50GHz
CPU SPEED:
2.52 GHz
SYSTEM MEMORY:
4.25 GB
VIDEO CARD MODEL:
AMD Radeon HD 7670M
VIDEO CARD MEMORY:
3.98 GB
VIDEO CARD DRIVER:
aticfx32.dll

And here's the pastebin of the log: http://pastebin.com/GRvZSJxX

Thanks for the help.

Try following the basic troubleshooting guide link below to rule out a problem with the launcher. If you still have issues then follow the second link relating to logs.

You will also need to allocate more then the 1gb you currently have allocated for ftb otherwise most of the 1.6 packs will not run. Now your system only has 4gb of ram so try 2gb and see how it works out.

Did all of that, then got hit with this error:

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/common/collect/Lists

So I downloaded Guava.jar manually and added it in, everything works now :)

All I did was follow the trouble shooting guide and ended up also doing this http://desk.feed-the-beast.com/inde...achine-or-port-is-not-valid-on-remote-machine.

Then ran FTB in compatibility mode for windows 7. But then I got this error "Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/google/common/collect/Lists"

So I downloaded guava_14.jar (google it, it's easy to find) because that's the version in the FTB assets folder used, went into my FTB install directory went to assets/com/google/guava/guava_14 and pasted guava_14.jar there and it all worked.
