Hallo.
I have Mac, and I play FTB with Mindcrack 8.1.1.

I have tried to install Optifine on FTB.
When I download Optifine I dont get it as a zip-file, it's just a regular folder? I think thats why I cant install Optifine.
I have compressed the Optifine folder into a zip-file, and I have tried to change the name of the map to "Optifine.zip" but none of that has worked.

It would be asume if someone could help me install Optifine! :)

Well for starters, thats for Minecraft 1.5.1, not 1.4.7. Click downloads on the OptiFine website and get OptiFine_1.4.6_HD_C5. D5 is baaad news.

EDIT: May not be HD_C5, get the one thats 1.4.6 and has C5 at the end.

You need to work out why it isn't downloading as a .zip file, since it should be. It may be a Mac thing, but I doubt it.

Once that's done, you need to use the "Edit Mod Pack" button in the launcher. Add it to the JarMods section. Make sure you add the .zip file, when it downloads properly, don't decompress it.[DOUBLEPOST=1364379412][/DOUBLEPOST]
Ok, I found: OptiFine 1.4.6_HD_C3. Is that the one?

There's a newer version for 1.4.6, OptiFine 1.4.6_HD_D5. Download link.
Try downloading that one, see if it downloads as a .zip. If it doesn't, Google will likely be more help than we can be on that topic.

Thank you very much.
I downloaded the older Optifine version (1.4.6 C3) and I then opened the folder "Jarmods" and dragged the recently downloaded Optifine 1.4.6 folder (wich is not zip) to the "Jarmods" folder. Then i changed the folders name to "OptiFine_1.zip" and launched the game.
Now it works!
Again, thanka you very much! ;)

When You use Safari on Mac, default option for downloaded zip files is to automatically extract it.
Useful tip to disable this feature:
When in Safari open the preferences menu, go to 'general' tab and remove check on 'open safe files after downloading'.
