Unable to connect

I was accepted to
Terra Incognita|Mindcrack v8.2|24/7|Small, Mature Community

But I have a problem. I've been whitelisted, but if I try to log in and connect to the server with username Asukai, it says "Bad login", but I know I have the right password for the account because I tried it on Minecraft.net and it worked just fine. (A friend gave it to me) Any ideas/help please?

First off, be sure that any specific capitalization has been included in the whitelist. I believe that may cause issues sometimes, and even if it doesn't, it certainly won't hurt.

Second, and actually more important, I've had an issue on one of my Vanilla servers in the recent past where the server would not recognize that someone was whitelisted until the server was restarted. It didn't matter how the person was whitelisted - server console, in-game admin console, or editing the whitelist file in a text editor, all had the same outcome - it was as if the person had never been whitelisted. So, I would ask an admin nicely to re-run the whitelist command from the console, with your correct username capitalziation, and then suggest that a quick server restart could very likely solve the problem, and reference this thread, because that is exactly what solved this issue on that server.
