Ultimate Solar Panel: 8 Hybrids vs upgrading 1 Hybrid?

I found that you can make Ultimate Solar Panels by either using 8 Hybrid Solars or upgrading 1 Hybrid Advanced with more resources.
Which one is cheaper?

If you are using GT, then 1 is MUCH expensive.If not, then is just a bit more expensive

Since when can you upgrade one hybrid to an ultimate? Methinks you're all thinking of upgrading a single advanced solar, which is indeed cheaper.

But if you can afford it, going with the multiple hybrid solars will result in your EU production ramping up faster. You may be better off making a few ultimates out of hybrids, then from that point upgrading advanced solars directly.
