Ultimate solar helmet?

What does it do exactly? I just got my quantum helmet, so I was wondering if I should make into one of these, but I don't really know what it does. I know what a normal solar helmet does, but that doesn't give any armour; what about the ultimate version? Does it still give armour?

Ultimate Solar Helmet (Based on "Ultimate Hybrid Solar Panel").
Tech specification:
- This item available only with my addon Advanced Solar Panels .
- energy storage 1 000 000 eu and new technology with superconductors can full charge for few seconds !
- armor strength equivalent of quantum helmet
- no special abilities of quantum helmet (food and underwater supply, because advanced solar panel replace this modules)
- can charge all electric items in Inventory (charging algorithm: first charge armor, second others items in inventory)
- default generating value: day - 512 eu \t, night - 64 eu\t (you can change this values in config file)

its charges everything in your inventory, and since its an Ultimate panel you get 512 eu/t in the day and 64eu/t at night.

charges armor first then inventory tools and batteries. i think it provides the same armor bonus as the quantum helm it just doesn't have any of the perks.

also, could make a Charge-o-mat and set it to discharge mode and have a glass roof if you think its a waste of a panel XD

course the charge mat has like a 2 block range :/

I would stick to Standard Quantum helm. The energy gen is nice but If you have a ult lap pack or grav suit you have enough energy to last between charges. The lack of need to eat and the breath under water make the normal quantum helmet invaluable in my opinion; No more carrying food and watching my breath bar!

Having both is a great idea. Plus you will want it when you get the gravisuite. It eats power easy with boost

True, I have a Ender pouch Charging system, so I can just pop a piece of armor in my ender pouch and it comes back in 10-20 sec fully charged. Plus I like flying around underwater in my quarrys and getting uranium from the sides so Water breathing is a must have =).

That seems really cool! You've inspired me to make something like that, do you have any images?

As not to derail, the point where you need the ultimate solar helmet is essentially when you would be able to make it, so it's definitely worth it.

Not at Moment, At library not at home. I can describe pieces to set up tho: Enderchest with Logi pipe extraction to a Gregtech AESU (yay charge speed). Logistics charge manager module used leading back to enderchest. If using RP then I guess you would need to set filter to only the fully charged pieces of armor ( IDK if this would require building two sets of stuff..). You could use build craft additional pipes advanced pipe also if still on 1.4.2 but I'm pretty Sure This Will definitely require Building two sets of armor. IDK if BC option will work havn't tested. Also might experiment with using greg tech item management stuff... I will try when I get back.

I was thinking an input into a charging station would work, with an autarchic gate piping out when the things are fully charged, I don't think it has an option like that though, so it might require a delay.

After some testing, Diamond Pipes can't seem to tell the difference between an empty charge and a full charge. On the other hand, Autarchic Gates appear capable of telling a full charge from an empty charge, and so those can be used even without the need of logistics pipes. Just make sure to teach the autarchic gates which charge to pull out at. That could take some time as you can't actually craft an empty charged tool or armor (they don't even have the charge bar) and so you have to give them a charge and wear it down first.

You could also upgrade your charge approach by creating a second piece of each thing you want and leave one in the pouch at all times. Quick switch for you in about 5 seconds or less and never worry about charge time again. :p

Just one question here, the Ultimate solar helmet does not seem to charge indoors or underground, is this intended or not?

Far as I understand it, they require an ultimate hybrid solar panel to create it. As such, it should have 512EU/t in the daylight and 64EU/t at night.

Night is not the same as underground. Able to see the sky at night = 64 EU/t. One cobble block floatint 256 blocks straight above a solar panel = 0 EU/t in broad daylight.
