Hello people of the FTB Forum,
I think we can all agree that Ultimate was one of the best mod packs the team has ever created. There are people who still play it. However, the pack was for 1.4 and we are currently transitioning to 1.7, information most people already know. So here is my proposal, a pack that gives an experience just like Ultimate only with current mods. So please leave suggestions on mods that you think will make a good mod pack, not just for me, but for everyone.

To be honest, i think the Monster pack does that quite well. Sure, it's not the same mods, but a lot of the mods that were in Ultimate has changed pretty dramatically. We even have a few mods, or contents of previous mods, that are missing. I think Monster maintains a similar style as the Ultimate pack, enough so to be considered a good replacement for Ultimate.

Monster is not even close to being a pack, its messy and there are so many cross mod exploits and unballanced stuff. If there is a 1.6.4 that even comes close to ultimate it is TPPI and kind of direwolf20, since they are QUITE balanced. In Ultimate everything had its ups and downs, now alot of things have more ups than downs, while others arent used almost never just cause of the ups the other stuff provide.

Test Pack, Please Ignore is the successor to Ultimate. Tight configs, tight gameplay. Focuses on one power system with a nice alternative in the background.

Monster is too bloated to feel like Ultimate. DW20 is a random still.

I use TPPI with the addition of:

ICBM
Resonant Induction
Atomic Science
Galacticraft

I would highly recommend these additions. If you feel like a bit more add Rotarycraft and Reactorcraft.

This pack is Ultimate 1.6.4. It's almost perfect, The only thing it's missing the the 4 aforementioned mods.

The only problem I have with Monster is that it's absolutely humongous. And I'm not really talking about having the same mods, but making a pack that even people with a weaker computer could use. I know Monster is a great pack, I'm just saying that another one like it only without 150 + mods would be cool.

Test Pack Please Ignore. It's a custom pack with the code "MegaSharkPunch" and it's made with the idea of recreating Ultimate with current mods.

The thing that made ultimate ultimate was GT in my opinion if they did make another pack with GT then it would have to be very heavly modified because all the kids who like getting quantum in a hour cry over GT that's my look on things anyways

Hey so what is the selling point between ttpi over direwolf? I'm already deep into direwolf and I wouldn't want to regret it....

Well you can copy other your Direwolf20 world to TPPI. More mods, better balanced, interesting world gen. Everything feels really tight, like Ultimate did. I love it.

If you do copy over your world don't forget to turn on retrogen for GregTech, DartCraft, Magical Crops and Mekanism.
