Updated to Ultimate Pack and anytime it loads the game crashes before right after the Mojang screen. Anyone else getting this problem?

Had the same problem. Here's the fix:
1. Head on over to the launchers options tab.
2. Hit FORCE UPDATE
3. Launch.
4. If you crash again, open your task manager and kill ALL java processes.
5. Repeat 1-3
6. If failing again, return here with another log.

Got your problem(s)...

2013-03-04 23:00:44 [INFO] [ForgeModLoader] FML has found a non-mod file OptiFine_1.4.6_HD_D5.zip in your mods directory. It will now be injected into your classpath. This could severe stability issues, it should be removed if possible.

Optifine is not a "mod" mod, it needs to be installed in the "Jar Mods" Folder

In the options tab, select the install folder to "C:\FTB\"
It will help. :D

Hmm.... Realize that this info is NOT backed up by reports... Just by my observations....
  • FTB, modded Minecraft in general and other launcher who shall not be named seem to sometimes have a problem when they are installed to the desktop
  • They also seem to sometimes have a problem when the path has a space in it. (Usually the space is in the user name...)
  • Since no permissions (other then normal ones required to start FTB) are required to write to "C:\FTB\", it makes that issue go away
  • Sorter File name, seems to give me a slight (5-10) increase in FPS

For reference, v1.0.0 of the Ultimate Pack accidentally left in a mod that wasn't supposed to be in the pack and it happened to have an ID conflict with another mod. v1.0.1 removes that mod, fixing the problem. :)

What version of Opti should be used? Something breaks when I try to play SSP with Opti installed (the latest version)...
Here's where the Error Happens:

Use D5. I know it works because I use it myself, so it's much more likely you're installing it incorrectly than anything else. Remember it's a JAR mod.

I put it in the instMods folder, I know enough about modding to know to do that :p

I was using U_A2 I think

Double-checking your error, there's a bug unique to SSP where if you save and exit in a Mystcraft age, the next time you load the world it will crash on load... but the next time it'll be completely fine.

I get this all the time. It's a MystCraft bug that could do with a fix but XComp is a busy guy. :)

I get the crash every time I load up the world, even a new one, lets hope this works.
I want to spend some time in SSP messing with stuff before my favorite server updates to this.
