Mac Ultimate Pack refuses to connect to SMP or load SSP

As the title states, Ultimate seems to fubar FTB usage on my Macbook Air 13". Before trying Ultimate, both DW20 and Mindcrack worked perfectly. I have since tried Java 6, Java 6 + Optifine, and Java 7 in both of those cases to no avail.

I looked for crash logs, and it appears that Im not getting any from Minecraft specifically (still get logs from FML though) so that would suggest some sort of client freeze.

Any ideas would be awesome.
